  UFC and Spike TV Launch Voter Initiative

UFC AND SPIKE TV LAUNCH JOINT VOTER REGISTRATION INITIATIVE

“Fight For Your Ultimate Right” Campaign Encourages All UFC® Fans and Spike TV Viewers to Make Their Voice Heard By Voting

New York, NY, Monday, February 25, 2008 – The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC®) organization and Spike TV have collaborated to launch a non-partisan voter registration initiative entitled “Fight For Your Ultimate Right”. The partnership aims to mobilize the millions of eligible voters who watch the UFC on Spike TV to participate in the November 2008 elections.

“With this campaign, we hope to encourage our millions of UFC fans here in the U.S. to make their voice heard this November,” said Dana White, UFC President. “We want to remind people to take advantage of their ultimate right – their right to vote.”

“There are over 79 million eligible unregistered voters in the United States, 20 million of which are young adults who represent our target audience,” said Spike TV president Kevin Kay. “Spike TV encourages all of our viewers to become the voice of the American people, and to join the fight get to the polls this November come Election Day.”

“Fight For Your Ultimate Right” is a multiplatform initiative which will feature in-arena voter registration drives at domestic UFC events and on-air promotional advertisements on Spike TV. Voter registration at UFC events begins on March 1st in Columbus, Ohio at UFC 82 at Nationwide Arena. The campaign will also include digital content on www.UFC.com and www.spike.com, which will feature exclusive video as well as links to the website of non-partisan voter registration partner Declare Yourself to register on-line in any state. On the ground student volunteers with the Student PIRGs’ New Voters Project will also register young voters at UFC events.

“We are pleased to partnering with UFC and Spike TV to make it fast and easy for UFC fans to register to vote right from their computer and to receive voting reminders through their mobile phone,” said Marc Morgenstern, executive director of Declare Yourself.
