Las Vegas (PRWEB) July 13, 2008 — The number eight is highly regarded in the Asian culture as a forbearer of good luck and fortune. For the upcoming stars of mixed martial arts (MMA), they are looking for a lucky break winning at the next upcoming TUFF-N-UFF event slated for August 8, 2008 at The Orleans Hotel & Casino.

“This next event is going to really showcase some of the toughest women mixed martial arts athletes,” said Barry Meyer, President of TUFF-N-UFF, promoters of the event. “We’ve had two events that were sold out demonstrating the overall popularity of the TUFF-N-UFF events. We are really excited about giving these ladies the spotlight.”

For TUFF-N-UFF, the return to The Orleans Hotel & Casino is truly déjà vu. TUFF-N-UFF brought the first sanctioned female MMA fight to the same venue on back on November 14, 2003. Now four years, ten months and six days later, TUFF-N-UFF is excited to bring five female MMA tournament champions together in one ring to crown the ultimate champions.

The fight card is also truly stacked at the upcoming event with plenty of hard-hitting men’s MMA action. “There’s going to be some hard hitting men as some of the fighters are back for their third TUFF-N-UFF event,” Meyer added. “After all, our first event at The Orleans Hotel & Casino back in 2003 produced several current shining stars of MMA!”

Some of those MMA fighters from the 2003 TUFF-N-UFF event that are now professional include Jon Fitch, who will be fighting for the UFC title the following day in Minnesota against George St. Pierre; Shonnie Carter; Rob Emerson; Sam Morgan; Aaron Riley and Rick Davis.

Other fighters that had their start in the TUFF-N-UFF ring and now fight professionally include Jesse Forbes; Jesse Taylor; Brad Imes; Frank Mir; Babalu Sobral and many more.

“TUFF-N-UFF is truly the place to see the future stars of MMA today,” said Meyer. “We have had several other fighters gain experience and exposure in our shows and look forward to helping other up-and-coming MMA fighters build their future.”

Tickets for the event are currently on sale and priced starting at only $25. To purchase tickets, please call The Orleans Hotel & Casino box office at 888-365-7111 or visit the event website at www.tuffnuff.net. Las Vegas Nutrition Centers across the Las Vegas Valley have tickets available at a discounted rate. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. and the first bout is set to begin at 7:00 p.m.
