UFC 101 in Philly - Penn vs Florian

Mike Brown managed to spoil the party... again. In front of an estimated 13,000+ at Arco Arena in Sacramento on Sunday, Brown successfully defended his WEC Featherweight title against superstar challenger Urijah Faber... in Faber's own backyard.

The reception Faber got was tremendous, almost a pro-wrestling like atmosphere. Brown was heavily booed, but moreso because he was "the rival of the hometown favorite" as opposed to anything he himself did to anger the fans.

TOTAL COMBAT RETURNS TO PARADISE CASINOS! Paradise Casinos to host Total Combat 31, the ultimate non-stop, action-packed extreme cage fighting sports event. Tickets on sale.

Yuma, AZ – The extreme cage- fighting contest, Total Combat 31, a live, mixed martial arts fighting sport returns to Paradise Casinos on Saturday, Sept. 20 at 6 p.m. This no-holds-barred fighting event kicks-off with a pre-fight at 7 p.m. followed by an action-packed card at 7:30 p.m. and leading to the night’s main event, Rafael Dias vs Chance Farrar.

This thrilling and adrenaline-pumping form of mixed martial arts fighting, presents the hottest rising stars of extreme fighting as they take their next steps into the top of the world and possibly into the UFC. The objective of Total Combat is to give athletes a venue to showcase and test their skills in front of a live audience. Through tremendous fan response, Total Combat has quickly established itself as the premiere mixed martial arts fighting event to attend. This extreme fighting sport has been made popular by the Ultimate Fighting Championship and has found a home at Paradise Casinos, the exclusive venue for top-notch entertainment and sports events. This is Total Combat’s fifth showdown at Paradise Casinos and sixth in Yuma, AZ.

The official fight card for Total Combat 31st features an ultimate match between the champ, Chance Farrar from Yuma, AZ and the up-and-coming Rafael Dias form Boca Raton, Florida for a showdown that promises to be a back and forth struggle for control. Other matches include the fast pace 155lbs division featuring Alex Garcia from Brawley, California vs Chad Dietmyer from Tucson, Arizona and Johnny Torres representing Imperial Valley going against Damon Ginart out of San Diego, California.

Yuma’s own Cibola High School standout wrestling champion and the UFC’s 4-0, Cain Velasquez will make a special appearance adding on to the already exhilarating intensity of the event. Total Combat 31 will also feature local fighters Eric Blaton and Mike Garcia as they take on fighters from California and beyond to prove that Yuma is the hot spot for the next generation of cage fighters. These fighters will be testing their skills and looking to graduate from the Total Combat cage in hopes of moving on to world wide fame, as Total Combat 31 focuses on Arizona to see what champions will come from the Grand Canyon State. And adding on to the night’s fun and excitement are the Total Combat Dolls, the professional dance squad that keeps the fans entertained between fights while showing off what fitness and conditioning are really all about.

Weigh-ins will be held in front of the casino on Friday, Sept. 19th from 4 p.m. – 6:00p.m. Local fighters will be available for interviews.

Paradise Casinos is the exclusive venue for Total Combat in Yuma, AZ. Tickets are only $75 Ringside, $35.50 Floor or $25 Bleacher. Gates open at 6pm, Pre- fight at 7pm and the action starts at 7:30pm. This is a 21+ event.
