Newport Beach, CA: The growing sport of Mixed Martial Arts will reach a whole new audience this weekend, when promoter Roy Englebrecht takes his Fist Series concept to the Orange County Fair this Sunday evening, July 27th at 7pm, with SummerFist 2008. Four pro mma bouts featuring some top young Southern California talent will take place in the 5,000 Grandstand Arena, and the show is free with fair admission.
In action will be 2-0 Patrick Doty from MMA Headquarters in Irvine vs 2-0 Armando Contreras out of Riverside’s LA Boxing in a middleweight matchup, along with Andrew Flores from Riverside Submission vs Gracie Academy’s tough Kevin Casey in a light heavyweight battle. Rounding out the card is Jokers Wild 2-2 Tyler Weathers battling 1-1 John Sassone out of the Ultimate Training Center in Huntington Beach; and two fighters in their pro debuts sees San Diego’s Jason Lofton vs Brian Davaney out of LA’s Fight Science.
This will be Englebrecht’s third show in the past eight days, as he had the Affliction Banned show at the Honda Center on July 19th; a IBA World Title boxing show at Table Mountain Casino outside Fresno on Friday, July 25th; and SummerFist 2008 this Sunday.
